Whether barefoot or shod, with new clients', I often identify and correct hoof problems which are causing compensatory issues throughout the entire horse; too much sole pressure, imbalances, lack of support, over trimmed or overgrown hooves, and/or poor fitting size, shape, or style shoes.
Sore feet affect the entire horse and cause great distress. Joint disease, lameness in limbs, and an overall unwilling attitude often stem from hoof issues.
Whether a backyard pleasure horse or a world champion performance horse, each hoof is a critical component to soundness.
